FAQ

Got a question? You might find the answer here.
Can we meet and have a chat about our big day?

Definitely. Please get in touch to let me know when’s good for you. We can meet at your home, a local coffee house or perhaps the venue you are getting married at.
Are you a member of any professional organisations?

I’m a proud qualified member of the prestigious and internationally renowned Guild of Photographers and Society of Wedding and Portrait Photographers.
Will you take any traditional formal images?

Yes, I will include all your important ones in your day. My style is predominantly photojournalistic so you won’t find many examples on my site – but we all know how good they look on your mantelpiece.
The image files on DVD…. can I make prints from them?

Yes, and screensavers and canvases too. It’s part of the package I provide so I always grant you full personal use.
Do you have Public Liability and Professional Indemnity insurance?

Not very exciting…. But yes I do. I have both to cover all eventualities.

Do you ever shoot more than one wedding on the same day?

No, it’s too much work! You will get my full attention on your day from start to finish.
Can you hold a wedding date for me?

Sorry but No. To be fair to everyone this might actually be the only thing I can’t do. Due to the volume of enquiries I receive a date is only reserved on receipt of a completed booking form and deposit.
Do you charge for travel?

Not for local weddings in and around Newcastle, Tyne and Wear. Anything further would be reasonably charged and discussed upfront.
What happens if you’re ill on the day?

I take a few paracetamol and look slightly less happy than normal. But I’ve never yet been ill enough to not cover a wedding. Although, if for any reason I really couldn’t make it on the day, I have arrangements with other local photographers of similar style and would offer you a choice of alternative photographer.
How much is your deposit and how do I confirm my booking?

A deposit of £200 together with my standard booking form reserves your day. As soon as this is received, your booking is confirmed and I’ll send you an invoice and receipt for your non-refundable deposit.
When is full final payment required?

Full payment is required 3 weeks before your wedding date – noted on your invoice.
When will our lovely photos and album be ready?

Your professionally finished images will be available online about one to two weeks after your wedding and your album will be ready around six weeks after choosing your photos.
Does David Bousfield Photography have a set of standard terms and conditions?

Of course, I’m a professional you know. You can find them on the back of my booking form. Just ask and I will email you them over.
How many photos will you shoot at our wedding?

Lots and lots – so I can provide you with the best ones. Just so you know, I favour quality over quantity so you won’t be given lots of almost identical photos just to make the numbers up – every photo will be as wonderfully unique as it can be and only the finest images will find their way into your finished gallery.
Can I see more photos from full weddings you have shot?

Absolutely. Just ask me for a password or three. All of the images on my site are from real weddings (not models!) and every image was taken by my good self.

Some Photographers offer thousands of pictures for £300, why are you different?

Photography is my profession.  It isn’t something I just do on the weekend to top up another salary.  A typical wedding can take up to two weeks of my time.  The marketing, the consultations, the wedding itself, the editing and the album design are all facets of every single wedding I undertake.

The images I make of your wedding are crafted by me, on the day and in post processing.  I don’t “shotgun” photograph.  Each image is a considered moment of the day.  Once the day is over, I use only the very best materials and very best labs to produce your stunning albums, which I guarantee you will want to look at time and time again

People use me as their wedding photographer for the complete package.  They genuinely want a beautiful representation of their wedding day and they want a wedding photography collection that they will adore and want to look at time and time again.

On a practical note, check their work, references and insurance as well, that is something many people don’t consider till the photographer doesn’t turn up or makes the day a total disaster.
